ZYGO ZMI-2002

I/O modules and external termination panels for the ZMI-2002 are now available to meet the requirements of non-flammable electrical equipment applications in hazardous locations such as volatile gas environments. The new ATEX Triconex certification for I/O modules and termination panels allows users to comply with non-flammable and thermally restricted termination directives without the need for isolation barriers or similar configurations. In addition to providing an ATEX-compliant solution that extends from safety systems to field wiring, the certification offers installation and maintenance cost advantages over isolation barriers. In addition to the new I/O product line, Triconex also announced the release of Enhanced Diagnostic Monitor v1.1.111, a Windows XP-based software application that provides a more comprehensive view of the operation of Triconex safety systems.

The ZMI-2002 supports the use of standard, enhanced, and custom fieldbus block types to take full advantage of the algorithmic capabilities provided by device vendors. Configuring control algorithms directly into field devices improves loop performance by eliminating transfer time for data exchange between field devices and host control systems. Customers can choose to use function blocks in the field device, the DCS, or both, providing greater flexibility and efficiency in many control strategies. The Fieldbus Foundation’s Host Registration Program tests the host’s ability to support standard function blocks and functions in device descriptions and function files.
