Detailed content

SCXI-1100

The SCXI-1100 allows the implementation of complete positioning axes with inputs for enable and status signals as well as limit and homing switches. Alternatively, digital I/O can be used as position switches, cam switches or touch probe inputs. The user is free to assign and configure the I/O functions required by the application. The stepper motor interface is designed for 2-phase motors with a maximum current of 6A per phase and a motor supply of 48VDC up to 256 microsteps. The module’s dedicated processor greatly expands the number and type of third-party devices and systems that the Ovation controller can support, as well as the increasingly complex data they provide. The module offloads all communication protocol processing previously handled by the controller, and also provides faster access to data from these devices and more efficient integration of information into Ovation systems.

The SCXI-1100 causes the device to self-protect by shutting down, which can cause the device to slow down or shut down completely during critical control operations. Voltage dips events, also known as voltage dips or voltage drops, are reductions in input voltage over a short period of time (usually less than 0.25 seconds). They are characterised by an amplitude of less than 90% of the nominal range. Although not complete voltage interruptions, they are the most common industrial power quality problem and are often deep enough to cause equipment control circuits to power down and reset. PLC-to-terminal wiring and pluggable connections are available for connecting cabinet door fittings, such as pushbuttons, to the terminals.
