After hypochlorous acid (HOCl) diffuses through the membrane of the FCL sensor, it undergoes electrochemical reduction, releasing electrons and generating a current proportional to the free chlorine concentration in the media outside the sensor. The low current output is then regulated to a direct 4-20 mA output. The FCL sensor operates over a pH range of 4-11, a temperature range of 0-45°C (32-113°F), and a maximum pressure of 14.7 psig (1 Bar) The Sensorex FCL sensor is well suited for a variety of water applications such as municipal drinking water treatment, municipal wastewater, industrial plants, and commercial facilities.
