RDC2

The RDC2 allows administrators to establish communications with a large number of new or existing RTU and ASCII serial devices over Ethernet, thereby optimising production, efficiency and operating costs by enabling devices to communicate between protocols. The high port density eliminates the need for a large number of low port density Modbus gateways that require additional cabling and the installation of hardware and software one gateway at a time. Each RS-232/422/485 serial port can be individually configured for Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII operation, as well as different baud rates, allowing both types of networks to be integrated with Modbus TCP through a single Modbus gateway. Up to 31 serial devices can be connected to each port.

The RDC2 is easy to integrate. It is compatible with virtually any Modbus network and takes only a few minutes to install. The AutoScan feature makes it possible to automatically detect devices with a single click, while the AutoCalibration feature can be used to easily configure response timeout settings. In addition, the QuickLink feature allows the gateway to automatically detect parameters and map them to a format suitable for use by the PLC. Administrators can also utilise web-based monitoring tools to monitor I/O data and logging from field devices. In addition, the RDC2 provides an event log to record important events such as network problems and protocol issues.
