The MVI56-LTQ can be relied upon as a device: The module can support 24 auto-tuning 530 cycles to control temperature, level, and pressure, while the 16-bit, 3.5″ 320×240 QVGA color touchscreen displays data, color trend graphs, and attention-grabbing alarm screens. Display options are virtually endless, with over 1024 user-designed screens and up to 250 images per application. Internal memory stores 1mb of application logic, plus 512K fonts and 6mb of images. Module communication options include Ethernet, cellular and industrial protocols such as MODBUS, DF1 Slave, J1939, CANCAST and more. In addition, the Vision 350 unit can be “taught” to communicate via virtually any ASCII protocol. The controller is also capable of time-based and instantaneous interrupts, making it a natural for “fast response” applications like packaging machines.
