The IS220YDIAS1A is able to use the GE controller’s tags in order to name the tags with descriptive text of the programmer’s choosing rather than tag names based on the PLC memory address. This is important on two levels. First, it means that the Maple HMI can be used with Allen-Bradley controllers without having to change the coding of the controller itself. This allows the user to put the Maple HMI into an established Allen-Bradley process without breaking the existing controller program. EtherCAT modules for servo and stepper motors utilize the CiA402 drive profile, which supports synchronous position (CSP) and synchronous velocity (CSV) modes as well as legacy mode profile positions, profile velocities, and multiple homing methods.

The IS220YDIAS1A module is equipped with two Ethernet connectors and a built-in switch, allowing wire, star, tree, and ring topologies to be implemented without any additional hardware.The JVL EtherCAT module features multiple LEDs to give technicians and operators an overview of status. Opto-isolated digital I/Os are embedded in the module to control additional sensors, etc. without the need for external I/O modules. The integrated stepper motors can be synchronized with cycle times of 1, 2, 3 and 4 mS, while the MAC integrated servo motors have cycle times of 1 and 2 mS, both with a maximum jitter of ±1µs.
