The new IS220PDIAH1B remote controllers provide a unique solution for safety-related applications that are typically addressed using more traditional safety control solutions that require both standard programmable logic controllers and safety-grade programmable logic controllers.The IP 67 enclosure rating of the UE4457 and UE4427 remote controllers allows for in-machine installation using quick-disconnect technology for in-camera installation without taking up valuable panel space. These controllers are remote I/O devices that also include safety-grade controller features.

The IS220PDIAH1B has six (6) dual channel safety inputs that can also be used as single channel inputs, twelve (12) test/signal outputs and two (2) bipolar safety outputs. The UE4457 model also supports two (2) Safe Data Link (SDL) connections, which can be used in conjunction with intelligent SICK safety products such as the C4000, S300 Advanced, S3000, and M4000 Advanced to provide additional functionality (e.g., switching of field sets or user modes).
