The FBM230 P0926GU can also accelerate motion system design using a 1-axis or 4-axis development board. The boards include isolated I/O, locking pluggable connectors, and serial RS-422/485 programmable motion or CANopen. Servo drive systems are available in five performance levels with power ranges from 50 to 750 watts. Many possible motion control applications focus on dynamic motion and handling – such as positioning, transfer and winding. The fully scalable motion control solution can be implemented efficiently in the engineering framework TIA Portal with technical objects, integrated diagnostics and detailed error detection.

The FBM230 P0926GU power module buffers energy in the event of a power failure. The new power module is battery-free and therefore maintenance-free, and provides the CPU with up to 20 MB of complete data remanence. It feeds directly into the backplane bus and supports the integrated diagnostic modules of the S7-1500 system – for standard, safety and motion control applications. This speeds up machine and device restarts because the data is still there when power is restored and no parameters need to be reset. The power supply module now also allows production applications previously using Simatic S7-400 to be converted to the latest Simatic S7-1500 technology without limiting remanence behaviour.
