The F8621A enables industrial control engineers to add high-speed measurement and analysis, advanced control, network connectivity and data logging to existing systems to improve machine performance and quality. The new NI CompactRIO PROFIBUS C-Series modules add high-performance measurement and custom control to standardized PROFIBUS-based systems by connecting CompactRIOs and NI Single-Board RIOs as masters or slaves to PROFIBUS DP networks. In addition, NI introduced a single-port FOUNDATION Fieldbus H1 interface for USB and a pair of DeviceNet motherboards for PXI and PCI. With more than 30 million nodes installed worldwide, PROFIBUS is one of the leading industrial networks connecting programmable logic controllers (PLCs), I/O, sensors, and drives in industrial and automation systems.

The F8621A module connects CompactRIO PACs and NI Single-Board RIO embedded systems to the PROFIBUS industrial network and adds high-performance measurements, advanced analytics, and customized field-programmable gate array (FPGA) logic to existing systems. Engineers can now easily upgrade and retrofit existing machines and systems with the new PROFIBUS modules to quickly add high-performance, flexible NI hardware and LabVIEW graphics software to accomplish high-speed, customized tasks that traditional PLCs can’t.
