The 5X00106G02 extends the General Purpose connectivity capabilities to improve quality, productivity, flexibility and scalability.Modbus/TCP is a variant of the Modbus family of simple, vendor-independent communication protocols for supervising and controlling automation equipment. Specifically, it covers the use of Modbus messaging over a TCP connection on an IP network.

The implementation of the Modbus-TCP server in the MVME6100 adapter is done according to the following specification:

The implementation of the EtherNet/IP server in the adapter follows the specification below:
