The DS6800CCIE1F1D features latching inputs, on-board diagnostics, and read/write access. Utilising Rockwell Automation licensed technology, the 7272 EnDat Interface PLC Module is 100% compatible with the 1756 ControlLogix PLC.The 7272 EnDat Interface Module interfaces directly with all Heidenhain EnDat 2.1 rotary encoders, high-precision angle encoders and linear scales. The module is digital, dual channel and bi-directional; making it possible to transmit position values as well as read and update information stored in the encoder or save new information.

The DS6800CCIE1F1D module provides sensor data such as application-specific parameters, compensation tables, error detection and diagnostic functions. Several other functions are standard. EnDat position sensors are bi-directional and only require four signal lines as AMCI’s 7272 modules support serial transmission methods. They are also self-commissioning, reporting all encoder attributes to the controller at power-up.The OEM can download application-specific data to a freely definable memory area of the encoder. These valuable functions can be used via ControlLogix PLCs by using the AMCI EnDat Interface Module.
