1900/27

1900/27 Unlike other EtherCAT network control methods, the MC4Unt allows the user to integrate multiple axes (up to 8) into a single network node, increasing performance and reducing costs. In an MC4Unt network system, one MC4U unit acts as the master and controls all axes, including those of slave MC4Us, other network drives and EtherCAT nodes. The host communicates only with the master unit, and the SPiiPlus motion controller inside the master MC4U generates motion profiles for all axes. A simple motion programming environment is provided. Some of the standard motions available include third-order vector point-to-point movement (one to eight axes), multi-dimensional geometries, electronic multi-axis cams, non-Cartesian motion structures (hexapod robots, Delta robots, SCARA robots), complex multi-dimensional paths and spline, multi-axis master/slave, and more.

The 1900/27 is also available with an optional powerful chassis that has administrative features including BIOS redirection to the console port and more. These additional features have been implemented so users can easily save and manage their data. Named MC4Unt, the network is a fully integrated system that can control up to 32 fully synchronized axes of motion, including a variety of amplifiers and corresponding power supplies (100-10,000W; 24-560Vdc) capable of adding hundreds of I/O. The networked system also supports state-of-the-art servo algorithms such as center-of-gravity and yaw-decoupled true gantry, Cartesian cross-axis compensation, and adaptive multi-axis control, which often require instant access to servo data from multiple axes. The controller handles all Profinet traffic, and the RapID platform can be used as a “network processor” with any host microcontroller. It can also be used as a stand-alone solution, with customer applications running directly on the RapID platform.
