The 1771-IFMS drives are also automatically integrated into the system diagnostics.Another new feature of TIA Portal V12 is the scalable and flexible motion functionality of the new Simatic S7-1500 controller for centrally or distributed connected drives. PLCopen-compliant blocks are available for programming, as well as motion control technology objects for control tasks and converter parameterisation. This makes it possible to programme and test typical asynchronous motion processes. Absolute and relative positioning, referencing, speed specification and absolute encoders are supported. The additional safety phase of the safety configuration enhances the protection against unauthorised changes.

With the improved and standardised display concept of the 1771-IFMS, status or error messages are visualised in exactly the same way – not only on the TIA Portal and HMI devices, but also on the Web server and on the display of the new Simatic S7-1500 controller. The real-time tracking of controllers and drives enables user programs and motion applications to be diagnosed with high precision and drives to be optimised. The optimised compiler features highly efficient code for fast handling of fail-safe programs. There are also new features such as autonomous priority and time settings and visual monitoring of error cycle times. Simplified acceptance printouts as well as new functional signatures for user programs shorten the acceptance procedure, even with modifications.
