SC-UCMX02

The SC-UCMX02 processor provides a base clock frequency of 1.73 GHz and uses Intel Turbo Boost technology to automatically increase the clock frequency based on the type of application. For example, when running an application that generates only a single processing thread, the CPU puts the three unused cores into an idle state and raises the clock frequency of the active cores from 1.73 GHz to 3.06 GHz. This feature eliminates the requirement for software applications to be multi-threaded in order to be developed with the latest CPUs. As a result, engineers and scientists can use the new NI controllers to significantly reduce test times for applications that require extensive data processing, such as RF protocol testing and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations.

The SC-UCMX02 provides four x4 Gen 2 PCI Express links for connection to the PXI chassis backplane. Combining the embedded controller with a PXI Express chassis, such as the NI PXIe-1082, doubles the total system data throughput from 4 GB/s to 8 GB/s. This capability allows engineers to transfer a larger set of I/O channels simultaneously, enabling the creation of larger, more complex data logging and playback applications. SC-UCMX02 embedded controller The SC-UCMX02 embedded controller comes standard with 2 GB of DDR3-1333 MHz RAM and is available with either Windows XP or Windows 7 32-bit operating systems. For memory-intensive applications, engineers can upgrade to 8 GB of system RAM and the Windows 7 64-bit operating system.
