T8160

The T8160 provides an interface between a Profibus-DP master and up to 32 8000 process I/O modules. Designed according to the Profibus DPv1 standard, it supports cyclic and acyclic communication and allows the use of a pair of BIMs in redundant configurations for increased reliability and uptime. The module uses protocol-independent Field Device Tool (FDT) and Device Type Manager (DTM) technology to standardise the interface between the system and field devices, simplifying configuration and assisting with asset management. The module acts as a PROFIBUS network scanner, providing high-speed transfer of cyclic input and output data between PROFIBUS devices and ControlLogix memory tables via a backplane. controlLogix PROFIBUS modules are an ideal solution for many applications in ControlLogix systems that require PROFIBUS slave communications. ControlLogix PROFIBUS modules are ideal for many applications in ControlLogix systems requiring PROFIBUS slave communication.

The T8160 is available with three CPUs ranging from 6.5 K of memory (1,152 I/Os) to 30.8 K of memory (3,584 possible I/Os), all with built-in power supplies. The DL405 also features:* Three CPUs ranging from 6.5 K of memory and 1,152 I/O to 30.8 K of memory and 3,584 possible I/O with built-in power supply* Three base sizes* AC/DC discrete inputs/outputs, up to 64 points* 10 Amp relay outputs* 12-bit and 16-bit analogue inputs and outputs* Thermocouple and RTD inputs Data communications, including serial and Ethernet modules* High-speed counter inputs and pulse outputs* Three types of remote I/O, including rack-based, module-based, and our terminator field I/O* Serial Remote I/O master and slave modules. It benefits oil and gas applications and is widely used because of its ability to connect controllers to many devices used in pipelines and refineries, including pressure switches and gauges, manifolds, analysers, flow sensors, actuators and control valves.
