The T8110B system can also be used to help meet objective and subjective NVH performance targets; characterise steering system sensitivity and performance; experimentally validate EPS functionality; and achieve other steering system performance goals throughout the warranty life of the vehicle. Typical non-hydraulic SMTS turnkey systems from MB Dynamics may include an electrically and acoustically quiet rack-and-pinion load simulator. It is capable of simulating tie rod forces up to 25 kN and strokes from 20 mm peak to 250 mm peak.

The T8110B provides an acoustically and electrically quiet driver simulator for inputting and controlling steering wheel position, speed and/or steering column and I-axis torque values from 10 Nm to 150 Nm. A variety of on-board hardware and software features in the SMTS help to minimise the notch effect, torque and force fluctuations associated with inter-pole passes in the EPS motor. The addition of the Quiet System component allows for better troubleshooting, identification, diagnosis and resolution of the root causes of noise and other performance issues commonly found in EPS, EPHS, EPAS, MDPS and HPS steering systems.
