The 3721 is a complete and cost-effective solution for detecting system deterioration, providing maintenance with the intelligence needed to correct problems before productivity is affected. As the industry’s first machine monitoring and protection system to successfully link maintenance tools to the control architecture, the series can be deployed on open-standard industrial buses, enabling plant engineering and maintenance personnel to continuously and cost-effectively monitor and protect critical plant assets. These modules can be easily integrated with other XM protection modules, PLCs, distributed control systems and condition monitoring systems, and display devices via DeviceNet.

The 3721 monitor also supports the connection of up to two XM-441 expansion relay modules for a total capacity of up to eight relays. “Each new XM-160 protection module measures and reports the total vibration level between selected high-pass and low-pass filters, as well as the gap or bias voltage for each channel,” said Ralph DeLisio, business manager, Integrated Condition Monitoring, Rockwell Automation. “Because the XM-160 protection module includes inputs, outputs, indicators, alarms and relays, it is simple and cost-effective to install, operate and maintain.
