TRICONEX 2101

The 2101 offers flexible sample rates, and the built-in DDS (Direct Digital Synthesis) generates programmable sample clocks with excellent frequency resolution up to 3×10-4 S/s. In addition, the USB-2405 supports external digital/analogue trigger sources and flexible triggering modes – including post-triggering, delayed triggering, intermediate triggering, gated triggering, pre-triggering, and re-triggering – maximising ease of use. The 2101 also supports auto-calibration to maximise ease of use. This is a 1-channel, 3.6 GHz 12-bit A/D or 2-channel, 1.8 GHz 12-bit A/D XMC module. The Model 71741 can digitise up to 1500 MHz of signal bandwidth. The front end accepts analogue RF or IF inputs through a pair of front-panel SSMC connectors and is transformer-coupled to the Texas Instruments ADC12D1800 12-bit A/D. The converter operates in single-channel interleaved mode with a sample rate of 3.6 GHz and an input bandwidth of 1.75 GHz, or in dual-channel mode with a sample rate of 1.8 GHz and an input bandwidth of 2.8 GHz. The 2101 also supports auto-calibration to ensure that it is not used as a standalone device.

The 2101 also supports auto-calibration to ensure accuracy and minimise field temperature drift, with a maximum gain drift of 11ppm/°C, 50% of the highest performance on the market. The USB-2405’s low DC measurement drift, as well as temperature drift, optimises accuracy regardless of the environment. The module accepts data samples from the A/D converter at a full rate of 3.6 GHz. It can also be used as a dual-channel DDC when the A/D is set for 2-channel 1.8 GHz operation, each accepting independent 32-bit tuning frequency settings ranging from DC to the A/D sampling frequency. In single-channel mode, the extractions can be programmed to 8x, 16x, or 32x, and in dual-channel mode, both channels share the same extraction rate and can be programmed to 4x, 8x, or 16x. The module greatly enhances the functionality of the Model 71741 and reduces the development time and effort required to deploy the module.
