Communication with the GPD506V-B004 allows users to configure the FC6A Plus as an FTP client or server for transferring program and logging data between a server and a PLC, providing a method of remote communication with the PLC. Up to 16 users can be managed simultaneously and access folders can also be managed. Files can be stored in the PLC or logged to the PLC’s SD memory card for transfer to an FTP server. The module is equipped with two built-in RJ45 Ethernet ports. An optional plug-in communication box can be added to create two additional RS232C/RS485 ports. With the addition of the serial communications module, up to 33 RS232C/RS485 serial ports can be supported!

The GPD506V-B004 includes an optional Bluetooth wireless communication adapter that allows the user to monitor the PLC and download/upload programs from any Bluetooth enabled PC or laptop. This eliminates the need to stock, locate, and connect cables to the PLC for these tasks and allows access to the PLC from distances of up to 10 m. Additionally, any Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., bar code reader) can be configured to communicate with the PLC as well.The PLC’s Ethernet port supports the Modbus TCP protocol, and the serial port supports the Modbus RTU protocol.BACnet The BACnet communication protocol supports communication with the system.
