SCXI-1302

The SCXI-1302 allows the integration of SoM modules in applications without the need for a full GOAL framework platform. Thus, for example, an 8-bit CPU with 2KB RAM can also be connected via SPI to the multi-protocol support technology SoM (Stack on Module). This makes it possible to quickly and easily integrate low-cost or low-performance CPUs into PROFINET, EtherNetIP and EtherCAT environments. µGOAL mimics the functionality required by the GOAL framework, which is required by the application controller framework. It can be configured in a variety of ways to ensure compatibility with a wide range of targets. Most of the CCM-specific fieldbus application examples can be reused without modification.

The SCXI-1302 requires no special fieldbus or programming knowledge, which makes fieldbus implementation fast and easy. The module offers greater flexibility and performance by using a 32-bit microcontroller with more memory (RAM and ROM). The fieldbus controller functionality is implemented in software, which reduces the module’s power consumption (self-contained) by about 25% compared to the FBK-2 solution. In addition, the SCXI-1302 enables automated assembly (SMD, surface mount device), which significantly reduces manufacturing and handling costs.
