The SCXI-1124 provides OPC UA server functionality in the chassis. As a result, ControlLogix systems can exchange data with OPC UA clients.The OLDI module supports on-the-fly creation of structures for unknown data types, including complex data created from user-defined tags in ControlLogix programs. Features enhanced process, motion, safety and information capabilities that leverage the Rockwell Automation Integrated Architecture system’s common design environment and network. For process applications, ControlLogix controllers significantly increase the amount of information that can be exchanged between the control and monitoring levels while allowing more control strategies to be implemented. This helps improve system performance while enhancing access to real-time information for increased productivity.

It is easy to find documentation, demo programs and forums that discuss Linux-based systems and projects.The LP-5131 can be expanded very easily via expansion boards or via fieldbus I/O extensions on USB, TCP/IP or RS-232. It comes with a software development kit and has all the powerful features of a Linux-based system, such as FTP server, Web server, SSH server and UPnP.
