Software and hardware support is available for the FLN3524A CPU3640. Software tools include maXTouch Studio and maXTouch Analyser. For the MXT288UD, the hardware provided includes an evaluation kit with a printed circuit board (PCB) and a 5-inch capacitive touch panel, while the evaluation kit for the MXT144UD includes a PCB and a 2.9-inch capacitive touch panel. For both devices, a bridge PCB is included with a USB connection for connecting to a computer while running maXTouch Studio.

The FLN3524A CPU3640 device is capable of detecting and tracking multi-fingered thick gloves through a variety of cover materials and thicknesses such as leather, wood, or uneven surfaces, even when wet. Typically, the dielectric constants of these cover materials can limit touch detection, but these devices provide a solution to detect and track multiple fingers with high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and a proprietary differential mutual acquisition scheme. For example, in car-sharing applications, this touch capability helps users access the car from the outside by tracking touch coordinates on an external display in any environment, such as rain, snow or extreme heat.
