The 1771-P4SB’s system consists of a small, battery-powered Valve Monitoring Device (VMD) mounted on an existing or new valve actuator using the NAMUR interface, or on a manual valve using the ISO 5211 interface. the VMD collects dynamic status data from the actuator or valve and transmits it as a 64-point packet, providing the information needed for preventive maintenance. the VMD transmits the data to the “last hop” VDR of the RI Wireless Gateway, the industrial computer that manages the RI Wireless System. The data is transmitted to the “last hop” VDR of the RI Wireless Gateway (the industrial computer that manages the RI wireless system) Multiple TVDRs can be connected to the RI Wireless Gateway over a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or Internet Protocol (IP) network.

The 1771-P4SB provides operation and maintenance data to an HMI, DCS, or PLC over common industry standard connections. The system is programmed and commissioned using a handheld Operator Device (OD) instrument that provides one-to-one wireless communication with the VMD. In addition to supporting installation and configuration, the primary function of the OD is to turn the unit on and off and receive real-time feedback on the status of individual VMDs. Ideal for noisy applications where improved performance is required, the RES90 series is designed for single-phase 120/240V AC and DC drives and is a multi-stage EMC filter with extremely high differential and common mode attenuation, rated up to 250V.
