The 1746-IB16 offers many user upgrades including a menu flow that allows configuration of the controller. It also continues to offer Bluetooth connectivity with the EZ-LINK mobile application for remote access to functions as well as a full description of parameters and error codes. The motor is integrated into new and existing applications with one 10-32 UNC-2B threaded mounting hole in the centre of the housing and two 6-32-UNC-2B threaded mounting holes on the coil end. The 1.250-inch (31.8-mm) diameter LVCM-032-076-02 linear voice coil motor, also known as a moving coil motor, is ideal for: medical equipment, scanner and laser beam steering and filtering, workpiece holding and clamping, assembly, testing, laser machining and drilling, wafer processing, optical focusing, and dynamic vibration damping.

The 1746-IB16 ranging system is based on MONORAIL MR roller-type guideways with a compact axis design, and the ranging and guideways are particularly well suited for use in machine tools. No additional assembly or adjustment of the measuring system is required by the operator. the AMSA 3B analogue version with 1 Vss voltage interface to all conventional controllers is the starting point for the AMSD 3B digital version. The latter has a digital incremental interface. This low-inertia, high-acceleration, brushless linear DC motor has a zero cogging effect, which provides accuracy and repeatability when operated as a DC servomotor in closed loop.
