136188-01 has the ability to read only the tables selected by the database administrator and link data from multiple tables into a single virtual table. This feature, along with the common views provided by the xCoupler modules, reduces the number of event triggers that need to be configured. These modules provide a powerful, simple and cost-effective way to support business intelligence, data warehousing, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, supply chain management and other initiatives. They can be set up in 60 minutes or less to use the database to configure specific plant floor devices to execute commands, download/confirm batch recipes, create reports and alerts, and provide a variety of descriptions. xCoupler modules eliminate the security, virus, and data integrity issues associated with complex PC multi-tier systems used to exchange plant floor data with business systems.

The 136188-01 provides excellent data accuracy and timeliness. Plant floor equipment does not affect the operation of the xCoupler modules, and the operation of the modules does not affect the plant floor equipment. Management, security, and transaction settings for these modules are accomplished through the xCoupler Module WorkBench Configuration Tool. Its drag-and-drop operation and intuitive display of device labels make setup a snap, requiring no special programming skills. It also eliminates the need for enterprise drivers, control system drivers and maintenance for future upgrades. In addition to IBM, Microsoft, and Oracle databases, the WorkBench utility supports configuration of xCoupler modules using the IBM WebSphere MQ messaging system.
