The 6637517A1 660-MISC-3311 supports 24/48 Vdc power supplies. Pre-existing high voltage power supplies support 125/250 Vdc or 120/240 Vac in the same unit.These can be used individually or either can be used in the same Axion unit to provide redundant power from different sources such as substation AC power and battery backup. Four-slot and dual four-slot backplanes can be used to create small distributed control systems. Another application for four-slot backplanes is to implement a redundant control system using two Real-Time Automation Controller (RTAC) modules.

The 6637517A1 660-MISC-3311 is suitable for large control applications with a large number of inputs and outputs. both the Axion RTAC module and the SEL-3530 RTAC now support IEC 61850 GOOSE for up to 120 incoming messages and 48 outgoing messages, enabling more flexible integration of a wide range of intelligent electronic devices (IEDs). SEL continues to develop new features for Axion. A variety of input/output (I/O) modules, including DC analog inputs, AC metering, fast high-current digital outputs, and DC analog output modules, will be released later this year to expand Axion’s monitoring and control capabilities.
