Once the 8937-HN program is created, it can be transferred to the PLC with the option to add comments. The program can be downloaded and the comments are appended to the operands and rungs, which are stored in the PLC processor. Using these comments, the user can view the programming code to provide instructions and simplify maintenance. Physical layers such as RS-232 and USB are supported, but few PLCs still have serial ports, and USB is only used for programming. Placement options are greatly enhanced. And all wiring and power conditioning hardware is included. Connect the gateway to the PLC via Ethernet and connect the red and black power cords to 24VDC: no other components required!

The 8937-HN is an icon-driven programming tool that combines logic and intuition with an interface. Programming IDEC controllers with WindLDR is simple and intuitive, using either ladder logic or scripting, which is similar to the C programming language. Scripting languages can be used to create more complex programs, especially those with multiple subroutines and custom function blocks. Even without ladder logic programming experience, programmers can quickly configure programs using the built-in editor, shortcuts and debugger.
