The 1TGE120021R0010 provides MODBUS RTU (RS-485) master functionality, cost-effective distributed data acquisition, and extended I/O control. The standalone microNCS can be used as an affordable MODBUS RTU master. one or both of the microNCS’ MODBUS RTU ports can be configured to poll other MODBUS RTU slaves with all the network polling features of a typical MODBUS master. This includes polling up to 32 (no repeaters) microNCS stations, Moore Industries NCS NET Concentrator System stations, and/or third party MODBUS slave devices per port.

The 1TGE120021R0010 “centralizes” data from four or eight fully isolated analog inputs and four discrete (contact closure) inputs, then transmits the data over long distances back to one or more host DCS, PLC or PC-based control systems. In addition to operating in stand-alone mode, the microNCS can be integrated with any analog, temperature, discrete, and relay I/O module of the NCS NET Concentrator system. Using only one microNCS module with expansion I/O, up to 124 signal inputs can be transmitted over long distances via a low-cost data link.
